The story of Romulus and Remus.
Storyboard Text
- Long ago.. Two brothers, by the names of Romulus and Remus were cast into the River Tiber by a servant of their mother. Their mother was facing extreme persecution for conceiving the twins by King Amulius and so were they.
- But then.. The river led them to be discovered by the she-wolf lupa. She suckled them and fed them picks. All of this continued until a shepherd and his wife, Faustulus and Acca discovered and adopted them as their own.
- As time passed... The boys became shepherds. One day as they were herding sheep, shepherds of Amulius started a fight with the twins. This fight ended in Remus' capture. Romulus, infuriated, gathered a small group to help rescue his brother, to which they were successful. Romuluz kills King AMulius and the brothers are asked to take his throne, to which they declined having to want their own city.
- After sometime... The brothers trailed long to find a location for their own city. In the end, both brothers couldn't agree between building the city on Palatine Hill, which Romulus favored, or the Aventine Hill, which Remus favored.
- In the end... The brothers agreed to an augury, which is when birds are examined to determine the Gods favor. Romulus is said to have seen 12 birds compared to Remus' 6, making him the winner
- This was not the end however.. Though Romulus was the clear winner, Remus' was still upset. And thus, proceeded to mock Romulus' walls on Palatine Hill. In order to make and even bigger mockery of Romulus, Remus jumped over his walls to his death. This is said to be a sign from the gods of Romes fate.
