- I see a cavern ahead, it must have fresh water and some source of food!
- Odysseus's men convince Odysseus to stop at the nearby island they saw to look for food and a place for rest. They leave their ships and begin to wander around looking for food. Odysseus's soft men insisted that if they didn't get something in them soon that they would die but Odysseus knew that wasn't true. What they end up finding on this relativly small island will shock you.
- The group walks around looking for food and water and couldn't find anyway. They went on a decently long journey and ended up finding a cavern. In the hope of finding some source of energy they explore the cave. This will end up leading to a good and bad suprise for Odysseus and his men.
- Odysseus and his men found sheep inside the cave and were getting ready to feast. Before they knew it, a cyclops with the name of Polyphemus returned to his home and moved a boulder over the entrance, trapping in everything. He narrowed in on the men purely from all the ruckus they were making. Finally, the men turn around to see Polyphemus and the cyclops instantly attacks and kills 2 of the men.
- Polyphemus then asked for Odyseeus's name, he replied with noone to keep his identity hidden. Odysseus noticed the cyclops was getting agressive and not listening so as quick as could he got Polyphemus's attention and gave him a very strong wine, almost instantly putting him to sleep but not before he got his hands on two more of his men killing them as well. Their goal was to find a back way out while he was asleep but they wanted to bring some sheep along with them.
- When the cyclops awakened, Odysseus's men stabbed him with a wooden spear 5 times, making Polyphemus go blind to a pretty extreme extent. As long as they were quiet they could easily make it out. They hid underneath and inside the sheep so they weren't heard or seen and scurried their way out of the secret tight whole in the cavern. They could hear Polyphemus tring to follow from behind but they had too big of a lead on him.
- Odysseus and the rest of his men made a run for it. They made it to their ships in time and sailed away. Odysseus got a little arrogant as they left shouting out who he really was. They would continue on their way home but Polyphemus would warn his father, Posieden of what just happened, and he will end up making the journey back to Ithaca very difficult.
