A king in the region of Phrygia in Anatolia was named Midas.
One day the god Dionysus was looking for his teacher Silenus who had gotten lost.
Silenus was later found by a few of King Midas' guards.
Silenus was then brought back to the castle where Midas let him stay for 10 days.
After Silenus was returned back to Dionysus they let Midas have a wish where he could turn whatever he touched to gold.
Midas then, after turning his daughter to gold, regretting his wish and begged for it to be changed. So Dionysus told him to go to wash it off in the river Pactolus getting rid of the gold touch.
