Storyboard Text

  • This looks familiar to what I learned, if I can apply it to this situation I can find the height
  • Hmm, well to make this easier for myself let's imagine a right angle and identify the sides
  • Opposite
  • The angle of elevation from me to the apple seems like it's 49 degrees
  • Adjacent
  • 36 cm
  • Hypotenuse
  • First off the distance between me and that apple is roughly 36cm
  • 49
  • SOHCAHTOATOA - Theta (49), Opposite, Adjacent (36 cm)Expression:tan(theta) = Opposite/ Adjacent
  • Opposite
  • Now that I have my numbers let's check, SOHCAHTOA. I have the adjacent and the angle for tan and what is needed now is the opposite, so TOA will be my function.
  • Adjacent
  • 36 cm
  • Hypotenuse
  • 49
  • The End
  • tan49 = Opposite/36(36)(tan49) = Opposite/36 (36)41 = Opposite
  • If I get my expression and replace the terms, my equation would betan49 = Opposite/36
  • Opposite
  • Adjacent
  • Hypotenuse
  • 36 cm
  • So when I get my equation and multiply both sides by 36 the height would roughly be 41 cm
  • 49
