- Israel worships other idols/gods
- King David i am your lord and if you choose to rule my people i will insure that your family will rule my people forever
- God makes a promise to king David
- What do you need in return my lord
- Nothing just loyalty
- God sends prophets to warn the people to turn back to him
- Turn back to god
- The israelites start worshiping other gods. Once god sees this and he sends down judges to sort them out.
- Some descendants return
- God promises that King David's descendants will rule over his people forever. God needs nothing in return just loyalty from him.
- Most of the kings after david did not keep the promise and lead the people to worship other idols. God sent prophets to tell them to turn back or they will be sent to exile away from the promise land but they did not listen , soon after the enemies invaded and wiped Israel out
- After some time some of Abraham's descendants were able to return to the promise land, when they returned thy started to rebuild it. At the end of the old testament we are waiting, waiting to see if god promises come true, is there a messiah?...
