Storyboard Text

  • Valli woke up to the loud sounds of vehicles honking and was startled and confused by what was around her. There were several cars driving by very fast, multiple high rise buildings and fancy people walking in suits and dresses.
  • "Honk"

  • Stop
  • this sight is way different than my village

She wandered around for a long time, trying to ask people where she was and how she could go back home, but no one would bother talking to a poor village girl like her. Valli was extremely scared and started crying with her arms around her knees. She missed my mother and wanted her near.
  • Oh aren't you the same girl.Oh my, you’re the same girl who sat up on the seat yesterday in the bus. Why are you here, in a city? I thought you lived in a village.
  • What Happened girl? Why are you crying? How did u get here
  • I got lost and i don't know how to go back
  • A voice asked. It seemed familiar. Looking up, Valli saw that it was the same lady who was in the bus yesterday telling her to sit down.
  • “Oh I see. Don’t worry child, I will find a way to get you back to your village. My son lives nearby, let’s go to his house and you can rest for some time there. He will take you back tomorrow.
  • “I took the bus again today to go to Caligari Carnival but fell asleep during the journey. I only woke up when we reached the city and I don’t know how to get back to my village. I want to go to my mother. Please help me madam
  • She has been missing since I woke up.
  • I have no idea where she could have gone. She never goes out without telling me
  • Madam, have you seen my Valli today?
  • “No Durga, what’s the issue?”
  • Didn’t she tell you where she was going? You should not let a young girl roam about alone
  • Meanwhile, back at the village, Durga was worried sick about her missing daughter. Distressed, she went about asking people if they had seen Valli.
  • Durga asked many more villagers but her efforts were in vain. When Valli’s father returned from work, Durga told him about Valli’s disappearance. Together they went to the police in hopes of getting help from them.
  • Our daughter is being missing since afternoon.
