  • Yes but now we have to pay even though some of us are also broke due to the war. As for the army, didnt you hear? We have to provide them food and sheltering whenever they want now!
  • Did you hear? Britain is in debt due to the war so now they're planning on taxing us but its to pay for our own army! We are finally protected now!

  • The French and Indian War began in 1754 and ended in 1763. It became known as the Seven Years' War. In the war, the French and Native Americans fought against the British. The war was ultimately to gain more power and control over the lands and seas in the Americas. Britain ended up winning, successful in taking France's land but it happened at a great cost.

  • After Britain won the war they were severely in debt and taxed the colonies with the Stamp Act in order to provide an army for them and get money. As well as that they also created a law stating that everyone has to provide housing for any soldier who needed it. This started protests in the colonies.

  • After the multiple taxes and acts, many colonists protested. They felt Britain shouldn't be able to tax them when the colonies had no say in the government.

  • The Boston Massacre was a riot on March 5, 1770. It ended in five colonists being killed. It started as a small dispute between some American colonists and a British soldier but quickly became something more. The conflict made people angrier at the British and helped influence the American Revolution.

  • Did you hear what happened in Boston the other day? The streets are less busy because more people are scared now
  • The Boston Tea Party was a protest on December 16th, 1773. Colonists were angry at Britain for giving them taxes without representation. They dumped 342 chests of tea imported by the British East India company into the harbor. The event ended up being the first major action against Britain. It made the Britains realize what the colonists would do and encouraged patriots' hope for independence.

  • Delegates from 12 colonies met in 1774 to discuss the new acts, America's future, and how to handle their reaction to Britain. The delegates ended the meeting by compromising and choosing to boycott British goods as well as establish the rights of the colonists.
