  • The Mesopotamian economy was based on bartering, which was trading goods and food.
  • Ancient Mesopotamia's social structures had slaves as the lowest because slaves were treated as property and the had to do what their owners told them to do, no matter what. Next there was potters and weavers who made pottery or baskets, and there was also priests who were a little higher up the chain because they were more appreciated. Finally, there was kings. Kings were highest up because they had control of everything.
