- Best friends Luke and Bill are standing outside their school, facing each other at the end of the school day. Luke says goodbye to Bill. Bill reminds Luke to ask his parents if they can have a sleepover. Luke agrees, says goodbye, then turns and starts walking in the direction of his home.
- Luke walks home along a suburban street and is thinking about how he can convince his parents to let him have a sleepover. He knows his parents do not like the idea of sleepovers. Luke comes up with an idea that he thinks will work.
- Luke walks into the kitchen where his Mum is holding a frying pan, and cooking dinner. He can smell the herbs and spices from the pasta as its being cooked. Luke's Mum asks how his day was. Luke tells his Mum that is was a good day and gives her an overview of his day.
- Luke's Mum stops cooking and walks over to Luke. Luke compliments his Mum about her cooking, by telling her how good it smells. He is hoping to put his Mum in a good mood and hopefully get the outcome he is after. Luke tells his Mum that she is the best Mum ever whilst following his mum into the loungeroom where Dad is sitting on the lounge.
- Luke's Mum looks suspiciously at Luke following his compliments as he doesn't usually like her pasta. Mum asks Luke what it is that he wants because the compliments are unusual. Luke asks her about a sleepover with his friend Bill. He waits nervously, hoping he'll get the answer he is hoping for. Dad is listening to the conversation in the background.
- Luke's Mum explains her concern about him having a sleepover. Luke explains why he believes he is mature enough to have a sleepover. Luke's Mum and Dad discuss it and agree to allow him to have a sleepover on the condition that he follows through with his promises. Luke hugs his Mum and says that he knew she was the best, whilst smiling at Dad.
