- Once i concieved the idea of murdering the old man, it haunted me day and night.

- The old mans eye is open so I can murder him!
- The antagonist in the story is the narrator. He begins the story by telling the audience that he is not crazy, and will prove his sanity by calmly telling us how wise and cunning he was and planning and caring out the old man. He tells the listener that this motive for murder is the old man " Vulture eye "
- climax
- I finally successfully killed the old man!
- Everyday at midnight, the narrator watches the old man and his eye. The narrator could not kill him because his eye weren't open that vexed him to the point that the narrator will kill him.
- falling action
- Where is the old man?
- On the eighth night, The narrator like usually is opening the door a little crevice opening it little by little. Then the narrator chuckles from the though of killing the old man and he is close to succeeding his goal.
- resolution
- I killed the old man and I hid him right under the floor boards.
- After when the old man opens his eyes and the narrator can see his eyes are open, the narrators anxiety builds up and can hear his heart beat getting louder and louder then the narrator starts worrying that the neighbors will hear the heart beat getting louder and louder.
- When the narrator had the audacity to kill the old man and hides it under the floor boards, the police came about the neighbor saying they heard a scream. Since the narrator wants to prove he is smart and he is confident that they will not find the body of the old man. He lets the police in and sits down with the narrator. after a few minutes the narrator can hear his own heart beat getting louder and louder and thinks that the police are mocking him and think they know that he killed the old man.
- The old man went out of town.
- While the police are talking with each other with the old man, the old mans heart starts increasing making his anxiety to rise, and could not handle it. so the old man starts to make a vehment movement that came out of no where and starts admitting that he killed the old man and hid it about the chair under the floor boards directly under him from feeling guilty.
