- In This scene, Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer are in their hideout inside a cave. This hideout is used as a base for Tom Sawyer's gang, this is where the band of boys meet to talk in private. They talk about robbing people, killing animals, and stealing from neighbors. None of this the boys end up doing though.
- Ain't no one gone find us in here Huck.
- our name will be Tom Sawyer's gang. What ya think of it Huck?
- Whatever you say Tom.
- Sure is a nice hideout Tom. That name sounds pretty nice when ya say it like that.
- In this scene, Huckleberry's dad who was said to be dead came and found Huckleberry. Huck was surprised and mad at his father, his father was mad because Huck was being given a proper education. Huck's dad was mad that Huck was the only boy in his whole family that could read. Pap also wanted some of Huck's gold.
- You the only one in dis here family that has ever dun read a book. You ought to be ashamed, I didn't read, my daddy didn't read, and I don't think you can read!
- I can read, I'll show ya give me one of 'em books pap!They all told me you were a dead, but I ain't believe 'em pap.
- This scene is when huck's dad locked Huck in the cabin while he went to town. Huck was tired of being locked up for days at a time so he found a small saw and cut out the back of the cabin. Then Huck went out and killed a wild pig for food and so he could fake his death. He cut some of his hair and used the wild pig's blood to make a trail that ended in the lake. This ended up tricking Huck's dad into thinking Huck had died.

- I have to escape before pap comes back and beats me again.
- In this scene, Huckleberry and Jim who is Miss Watson's runaway slave find each other on Jackson Island. Huck is running away from his pap, while Jim is running away from Miss Watson because he heard her talking about selling him. These two meet up and form an alliance working together.
- Jim! How'd you get to me? Why ain't ya with Miss Watson?
- Well Huck ol' Miss Watson she was a talkin bout sellin me to the slave trader!
- In this scene Huck and Jim find a house boat floating on the river after a storm. They bring the ship ashore and loot it. They find many items, but Jim also found a person. Jim found a man who had been shot, this man was Huck's father who was now dead. Jim did not let Huck see this and told him to keep working.
- No no Huck ya ain't need to see this! keep on workin boy!
- What did ya find Jim? Ain't no rattlesnake is it?
- In this scene, Huck and Jim are leaving the island they have been living on in order to move north into non-slavery states so Jim can be free. This is a dangerous journey knowing people are looking for Jim and could get both men killed.
- I can't believe I'm gonna be a free man Huck.
