  • Good morning teachers and my dear friends today I am going to tell you about the civilization of India
  • Indus valley civilization developed in the north western part of India.
  • It developed on the banks of the River Indus.
  • It is because Harappa was discovered first in 1921. In 1922 Mohenjodaro was discovered.
  • Indus valley civilization is also known as Harappan Civilization.
  • The British people unknowingly destroyed the fired - burned bricks for the Lahore and Karachi rail line
  • Archeologists found Unique design called Red and Black Ware, stone weights, seals with the Indus script and copper tools
  • They paid great attention to health and cleanliness. The largest building so far discovered is the Great Bath.
  • Rakhigarhi, Dhloavira and Ganweriwala are recently discoverd sites. The people developed pictographic script.
  • Wheat and barley were the main crops cultivated by the people. The main art and crafts were Bronze figurines, Ornaments, Bead Making, Seal, Terracotta etc.
  • Around 1750 BCE, the Harappan Civilization began to decline. There the soil fertility decreased, Influx of refugees, the rivers died etc.
