Storyboard Text

  • First, the seed is planted in the ground, which carries inside everything for the plant to grow. This is called the seed stage.
  • The seed is made up of the seed shell, which is the outside of the seed. It also has the plant embryo, which will become the plant
  • Second, the seed starts creating and putting roots in the ground, which stabilizes the plant and brings in water from the ground. This is called germination.
  • The roots will take in the water needed from the root hairs, and also take in oxygen needed for respiration
  • This stage is made from the stem, the cotyledon, and the just seeable leaves. The roots will also be below in the soil.
  • The plant then starts to rise above the ground, with the stem, which is a support, storage area, and reproductive shoot for the plant, above the ground. This is called a seedling.
  • This stage is made out of the leaves, roots, stem, and many different parts of the plant. The leaves will take in sunlight, through chlorophyll. They will also take in and produce oxygen through the stomata. The plant will go through photosynthesis, in the chloroplast, producing energy, glucose, and oxygen.
  • The plant starts growing leaves, which take in sunlight and CO2. The leaves then start the process of photosynthesis. This is called an adult plant.
  • This stage is the same as the last, except for the buds/flowers. These will pollinate through different bugs coming and going from different plants, bringing pollen to each plant. This is very important for the plant to grow and live.
  • Still an adult plant, the plant can start growing flowers. The flowers help in the pollination of other plants, and this plant itself. This is called Pollination. In some plants, the buds can turn into fruits, which would create food for us.
  • Fruits and other plants can send off seeds, which will then turn into new plants, starting the process of the Plant Life Cycle over again
  • The different seeds or fruits can go through many places. It can travel through us, animals, and the wind. They will become planted and grow a new plant.
