  • CITIZENS OF NINEVEH
  • I-
  • Instead, he chose to flee the city by boat rather than follow God's instructions.
  • The only difficulty was that Jonah refused to assist the citizens. He desired that the citizens be penalized for their errors.
  • AHHH!!!
  • God ordered Jonah one day to tell the people of Nineveh to stop acting foolishly.
  • A passenger is missing below deck! Allow me to go get him!
  • Many thanks
  • Please inform the people of Nineveh that their actions are inexcusable.
  • Aye, Captain!
  • I prefer not to destroy people who do horrible things; instead, I prefer to see us repent and do good again.
  • A tremendous storm arose shortly after the boat left, tossing the boat around violently.Except for Jonah, who was quietly asleep below deck, the men threw their luggage overboard in the hopes of avoiding drowning.
  • I'm fleeing from something God has called me to accomplish, Jonah explained. It is all my fault that this is taking place. The storm will be stopped if you throw me into the water. The men hesitated to toss Jonah overboard, but as the storm worsened, they did so. The storm came to a sudden stop.
  • H-help m-meeee!
  • God had not yet through with Jonah. He sent a whale to swallow Jonah whole to keep him from drowning, and he held him in the whale for three days.
  • Jonah had time to think during those three days of complete darkness and agony. He prayed to God over and again, begging God to forgive him and thanking God for saving him from drowning.
  • What a terrible life and all of its inequity!
  • Jonah stormed out of the city, enraged at God's refusal to punish the people, and begged God to kill him.
  • When the king of Nineveh learned of this, he made certain that everyone in the city paid attention to God.
  • Jonah had clearly changed his ways by the time God ordered the whale to spit him out.
  • Jonah consented to go to Nineveh for the second time when he was requested.
  • I stink!
  • All the people were forgiven by God.
  • We appreciate you informing us. We'll pay attention to what He says.
  • He told the people what had occurred to him and threatened to destroy the city if they continued to misbehave.
  • If you don't listen, he'll demolish everything in this city in 40 days!
