Different forms of communication are known as AAC! Whether it's through the use of an iPad or picture boards everyone deserves the right and ability to communicate with others!

However, verbal communication is not the only form! It's important for us to understand and realize that people who struggle with speaking verbally can still communicate even if it's different from what we are used to

Communication is a vital part of our lives! It helps us connect with one another, build meaningful relationships, and allows us to express our wants, needs, and emotions to others! 

Everyone has a right to a voice! A person's disability does not determine their worth and what they can and cannot do in their life. Watching these videos was a true eye-opener, could you imagine being stuck in your head and bot being able to express yourself no matter how much you want to?

Take Maya's mom for example! How she advocated for her and how inspiring it was to see Maya and her family light up when she was able to communicate. Imagine being a parent and not being able to provide the proper support and care for your own child?

A disability does not define your worth or what you can and cannot do! We need to keep advocating for our friends with limited verbal skills because it was so heartbreaking to see how doctors and professionals gave up so easily. Everyone deserves a voice!
