- In Cos, a Greek island, Hippocrates was born in 460 BC. He worked as a doctor and later on, taught future doctors. He played a very important role in Ancient Greek medicine.
- He created the hippocratic corpus, a collection of his writings an teachings. The collection had 70 books, and were in use for hundreds of years, they included illnesses and their symptoms
- Hippocrates created and popularized the Theory of the Four Humors.It was influenced by the four elements, air, water, fire and earth, and were believed to be the 4 fluids that make a human. And if they were inbalanced, they would make the person fall ill.
