The Great Train Journey 1
Storyboard Text
- Suraj likes trains so much, he keeps on waving to the passing trains until only the spiraling smoke remained, and he feels lonely when he is left behind with the hot empty track.
- Suraj saw a stationary goods train at the railway siding and he walked the length of the goods train. He found a carriage door and he tried opening it, until the door gave way to his thrust. The carriage was bare of any sort of glamour and he didn't like the dark, smelly and musty compartment. He wished that he had some company.
- Suraj found a few crates, and he tried to open it, as he is curious in things that were locked, bolted and concealed from him. He went from crate to crate and found one crate which wasn’t properly nailed down. So, Suraj got his fingers under the edge, plunged his hands into the straw and pulled out an apple.
- Suraj looked up, out of the doorway, and he thought he saw a tree walking pass the train. He dropped the apple and stared. He saw another train, and another walking past the door with increasing rapidity. He fell on his hands and knees due to the vibrating floor and the clattering of the rails. Crouching on his hands and knees, he realized that the train is moving away from his home.
- He picked up the apple he dropped and pulled a crate nearer to the doorway. Sitting down, he took a bite from the apple and stared out of the open door.
- Greetings, friend, said a voice from behind, and Suraj spun around guiltily, his mouth full of apple. The man had a dirty bearded face, with paan-stained teeth. Suraj replied Er-Namaste.
- He found a stationary goods train in the railway siding, and he walked the length of the goods train . The carriage doors were closed and he started trying the doors until it opened, he didn’t like the surrounding as it was a dark, musty and smelly compartment.
