- Okonkwo meets Ikemefuna

- Ikemefuna becomes sick and makes friends
- HAHA, Ikemefuna, you're the best!
- Okonkwo meets with the elders
- Are you sure that you want to come with us for the execution?
- Yes, I will come.
- Ikemefuna is sent to Okonkwo as a sacrifice.
- Ikemefuna does not know that he is walking to his own execution
- This kid has no idea that we are about to kill him.
- Ikemefuna is sick but gains popularity with Okonkwo and Okonkwo's family, especially Okonkwo's son, Nwoye, and starts to forget about his old life.
- Ikemefuna has been struck by a machete
- Okonkwo meets with the elders and they remind him that Ikemefuna must die and advise Okonkwo to not come with them because it may be very difficult to watch the execution. Because Okonkwo is afraid that he may look weak, he tells the elders that he will come with them to kill Ikemefuna.
- Okonkwo strikes and kills Ikemefuna
- The elders and Okonkwo have decided that it is time to kill Ikemefuna as the sacrifice. They are walking far away in order to kill Ikemefuna. Ikemefuna thinks that he is going back home to Mbaino and feels safe because the elders are talking and joking around with each other.

- While Ikemefuna has his back turned, he is struck by a machete and yells, "Father, they have killed me!" He is talking about Okonkwo when he says father.

- Okonkwo kills Ikemefuna while Ikemefuna was running to Okonkwo for safety. Okonkwo is afraid to appear weak to his peers so he kills Ikemefuna. The murder of Ikemefuna ruins the relationship of Okonkwo and his son, Nwoye.
