- Isn’t harder for organisms to survive in those conditions?
- Hii! We are Humboldt penguins. We love it here near the ocean because the weather is super cold and fresh!
- Exactly! That’s why species are so unique!! Like these penguins
- Quite scary Huh!
- Here we have the Culpeo fox, the largest predators of the whole desert!
- Amazing!
- And the giant hummingbird. A great consumer of tubular flowers which contain high sugar nectar
- Now that we’ve discovered the great organisms that inhabit the desert, what could you tell us about the abiotic factors?
- Uh, and a lot of sunlight too
- Well, as you saw the desert is mostly covered by sand and therefore suffers from the worst dust storms. Additionally, there’s also a very small amount of water
