- Humiga ka Ibarra para hindi ka makita ng mga Guardia Civil.
- Mamamatay akong hindi nakikitang sumilay ang bukang liwayway sa bayan! Kayong makakakita, salubungin sya. Huwag ninyong lilimutin ang mga nabuwal sa lilim ng gabi.
- Elias helped Ibarra to escape and took off by boat. Elias covered Ibarra with grass so that he won't be seen by their enemies. Elias jumped off the boat and the guards rained shots on him thinking it was Ibarra.
- Ikaw ay sugo ng kabanalan paring puno ang bibig ng pananalig.
- Elias instructed Basilio to burn his body inlcuding Sisa's until they turn into ashes. Elias then mumbled his last words.
- The sorrowful Maria Clara, believing that Ibarra had been shot dead in the river, entered the nunnery. Padre Salvi left the San Diego parish and became a chaplain of the nunnery. Consequently, a pretty crazy woman was seen one rainy night at the top of the convent bitterly weeping and cursing the heavens for the fate it has bestowed upon her. The woman was not named but it was assumed that she was none less than Maria Clara.
- Ibarra hosted a banquet later that day. He was immediately excommunicated and his engagement with Maria Clara was called off after he almost killed Padre Damaso.
- Ngunit ang puso ay imbi at lusak!
- Ibarra was about to visit Maria Clara to inform her that his excommunication was rescinded, but he finds her with Linares and decides to come back another time
- Ibarra's enemies engineered a helpless attack on the station of Guardia Civil. Ibarra was incriminated and arrested after the attackers believed that Ibarra was the brain of the uprising.
