- Vasitthaka grew up in a happy family with his mother and father.
- Eventually he grew up, got married and had a son of his own. They all lived in a house together and Vasitthaka provided for his parents wife and child.
- Vasitthaka's parents grew old, his mother passed away and his father got sick.
- Vasitthaka wife didn't like his father and grew more angry and inpatient toward the old man. She would complain to Vasitthaka and accused him of being mean and violent.

- Under constant pressure from his wife, Vasitthaka agreed to build a small shed for his father out of town.Vasitthaka's son who was seven years old at the time heard their conversation, couldn't believe his mother’s cruelty and decided he would help his grandfather.
- When Vasitthaka went to start building the shed, his son came with him. As he started hammering the wooden boards together, his son grabbed a board and did the same a short distance away. Vasitthaka saw this and confused by his son's actions asked him what he was doing. The son then told him that when he gets old he will also put him to live in a shed.
