- With the thought in mind that the dragon existed only if he believed it did, the knight took a deep breath and slowly marched back over the drawbridge. (Fisher 37) This shows that the knight is facing the dragon alone which represents fear and doubt.

- He was born good, kind, and loving. Therefore he didn't have the feel fear and doubt. (Fisher 37) This shows that the knight loves himself and so he doesn't have fears and doesn't doubt himself.

- The dragon threw gigantic, crackling flames at the knight, time and time again, but, try as hard as the monster might, it couldn't set fire to him. (Fisher 39) This shows how the knight was able to beat the dragon by understanding that it was only real because he believed it was.

- Each time i will get bigger and you will get smaller!
- Believing that he was going to die, the knight let go and plunged down into the infinite depth of his memories. (Fisher 41) This shows the knight has to let go and face his fear of dying to fully let go of the past.
- If you face the dragon, there's a chance it will destroy you, but if you don't face the dragon, it will surely destroy you. (Fisher 38) This shows the knight has to face the dragon (his fears) because if he doesn't the fear and doubt will affect him badly mentally.
- But the seeds- the Seeds of Doubt- didn't stop the knight either. (Fisher 39) This shows that as the knight faces the dragon of fear and doubt he realizes he can do things alone and that fear and doubt are illusions.
