  • My name is Bathsheba, and despite it having been disputed by some, I am a victim of violence and this is my story
  • My character in the past has been poorly portrayed as a seductress, or a temptress, but what they don't understand is they have the story all wrong
  • The story of my abuse begins in the springtime, while my husband was gone at war Click To EditThe story of my abuse begins in the springtime, while my husband was away at war Help Insert ParagraphUndoes the last commandRedoes the last commandTabUntabSet a bold styleSet a italic styleSet a underline styleSet a strikethrough styleClean a styleSet left alignSet center alignSet right alignSet full alignToggle unordered listToggle ordered listOutdent on current paragraphIndent on current paragraphChange current block's format as a paragraph(P tag)Change current block's format as H1Change current block's format as H2Change current block's format as H3Change current block's format as H4Change current block's format as H5Change current block's format as H6Insert horizontal rulelinkDialog.show Summernote 0.8.11 · Project · Issues
  • One evening, I was bathing in the comfort of my own home. I truly had no intention other than this, but somehow this action has been twisted at times
  • I was going about my evening routine when suddenly to my alarm several of King David's men were commanding me to come with them for King David had sent for me.
  • I sadly had no choice other than to go with them, the agony and distress that went through me was unimaginable, although I knew I had no other choice.
  • They brought me forcefully to King David's palace in which I was forced to allow King David do what he want with me, until at last I was freed to go home
  • When I finally returned home I wept, for I questioned; what had I done to bring this upon myself, and what would by husband think, who was away at war.
  • Sometime later, I found that I was with child, since my husband was still away at war I knew it had to be David's, I wrote to him and agonized over what to do. I questioned why this was happening to me, and what would my husband think, would he even believe me.
  • I soon heard that my husband Uriah would be returning, while I was relieved at first I was nervous to share with him what had happened, and questioned if he would even believe me
  • Although my husband Uriah, being the strong and faithful servant he was, refused to see me for he felt it would be unfair to the men still fighting in battle
  • Off Uriah went back to war, without me even being able to see him, I continued to agonize over what I was to do
  • Shortly after, I was informed of my husband's death, I was in shock and had no idea how to cope with these two horrible things coinciding.
  • I wept for weeks after having heard of my husbands death and I struggled to cope with the mourning of this loss
  • King David once again sent for me to come live with him where I would become his wife and he would raise my child. I had no other choice rather than to comply, but I couldn't help imagining life without this darkness that had recently followed me.
  • Components of my story are sadly not uncommon to many women, it is important to understand the toll that such actions take on women, and the life-altering effects it has on us, hopefully my story can serve as an example, so that more women do not suffer in the way I did.
