  • Erikson's first stage of psychosocial development starts at infancy birth-1 year. In this stage, they tend to identify the difference between trust and mistrust. For example, Carrie is trying to calm down Jordan while he is crying because he thinks his mom left him in the car. With this, Jordan is learning to trust his mom that she is there with him while she tries to comfort him.
  • Erikson's second stage of psychosocial development is toddler 1-3 years. In this stage, they tend to identify the difference between autonomy and shame/doubt. For example, Lily is telling her aunt which toy she wants to play with. With this, it shows how a child is at the age where they begin to make descions and choices for themselves independantly and doubtfully.
  • Erikson's third stage of psychosocial development is preschooler 3-6 years. In this stage, they tend to identify the difference between initiate and guilt. For example, Kyle is telling his friend Asia his idea of going to ask the teacher a question and Asia follows along and agrees. With this, this stage shows how children at the age of preschoolers begin to initiate learning for themselves with challenging them that can either lead to guilt for themself.
