Hinduism is practiced by about 1.2 billion people worldwide and is the world's third largest religion. Today, people who practice Hinduism can be found throughout the world but it originated in India and Hindus make up 80-90% of India's population today. Hinduism has fascinating customs, festive holidays, and wise teachings about the individual and the universe.

  • Lord Krishna is one of the most beloved Hindu gods and is the widely revered god of love, compassion and mischievous pranks! He is a universal supreme being as well as the incarnation of the god Vishnu.Lord Krishna is depicted with blue skin and objects related to his adventures such as: the flute or Murali to play divine music and summon others to him; the conch which makes the sacred Aum (Om) sound and represents the five elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Aether; and the peacock, deer, and lotus flower. Lord Krishna is the main character in the famous Hindu scripture "Bhagavad Gita". Krishna Janmashtami is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna usually in August or September.
