  • Hi. My name is Anne and I work as a Psychiatric Nurse!
  • Good morning, Ma'am and Sir! I will lead you to your room. 
  • Nurses' Station
  • Good morning, nurse! We set an appointment to Dr. X for my daughter's follow up consultation.
  • We are very worried...she has been on a diet that didn't seem to stop and we don't understand because she had never been overweight.. She'd also stop eating with us and spent most of her time in her room. One time she also fainted that's why we decided to go here.
  • Good morning! My name is Anne, and I will be your nurse for today. Doctor X will be here later but as of now, she asked me to do some assessment. But before that, may I know what are your concerns?
  • Anne is going now to her work. She is a psychiatric nurse in a private hospital for two years now.
  • To be honest, I feel fat. Whenever I eat I'm scared that I will gain weight and I don't want that....

  • Nurse Anne is currently at the nurse's station when a family arrived.
  • Okay, Ms. X. I will just do some assessments and Dr. X will meet you later..
  • Nurse Anne assist the family to the room. She asks some questions and told the family that the doctor will be there anytime soon.
  • Good morning, Doctor. How's our daughter's condition?
  • Good morning! Based on the exams and tests we did, your daughter have a condition called anorexia nervosa. It is an eating disorder characterized by markedly reduced appetite or total aversion to food. I will discuss with you the management and treatment we can do.
  • The nurse plays a crucial role in the successful hospitalization of eating disorder patients. It is imperative to foster a trusting relationship and establish honest communication.
  • Nurses are responsible for monitoring behavior, weight, vital signs, physical activity and nutritional rehabilitation.
  • Nurses are also responsible for ensuring that patients are able to understand their health, illnesses, medications, and treatments to the best of their ability. A nurse should also take the time to explain to the patient and their family or caregiver what to do and what to expect when they leave the hospital or medical clinic.
