- Okonkwo was a man of action, a man of war. Unlike his father he could stand the look of blood.
- Chapter 5 : Abusing Wife During Week of Peace
- Okonkwo walked back to his obi to await Ojiugo’s return. And when she returned he beat her very heavily. In his anger he had forgotten that it was the Week of Peace. His first two wives ran out in great alarm pleading with him that it was the sacred week. But Okonkwo was not the man to stop beating somebody half-way through, not even for fear of a goddess.
- Chapter 14 : Okonkwo Banished
- How has this happened? It was an accident!
- This shows that Okonkwo is very different from his father. This clearly shows that Okonkwo is brave and fearless while his father is clearly lazy and a coward.
- This shows that Okonkwo has a lot of anger inside of him and also is not the nicest man. In this quote it clearly demonstrates that he been through a lot of relationships and also it says he not the time of person to stop beating someone up half way through which isn't a good thing at all.
- This quote shows the confusion of Okonkwo after he accidentally killed someone and being banished. He was confused due to he wasn't the one that killed him. The sharpness from the fragments of the gun went into the boy killing him. Even though he didn't mean to kill after all he shot the gun and rarely blow up cause fragments to fly everywhere and killing the boy
