Twelve year old Lily, her sister, and her mother have moved to Washington to live with her halmoni, who is ill. When a magical tiger from Halmoni’s past starts visiting Lily, she learns that there are many stories and secrets in her grandmother’s past. This is a wondrous story about Korean folklore, family, love, and the power of stories.

Favorite Scene From When You Trap a Tiger by Tae Keller
My favorite scene in the book is when Lily breaks into the library to have the tiger help her and her sister. Lily remembers that it doesn't seem to rain around the tiger, and since Sam is afraid to drive in the rain, Lily knows the tiger could help them get to the hospital safely. This is my favorite part because I could really imagine it, and also because it is the moment that Sam starts to believe Lily and all that she sees.
