Egyptian mythology is the collection of myths from ancient Egypt which describe the actions of gods and goddesses as a way to understand the world around them. The ancient Egyptians believed that life, nature, and society were determined by the gods and goddesses, and when they left the Earth, pharaohs inherited the right to rule.

The Judgement of the Dead
Ma'at's Feather of Truth was used in the Weighing of the Heart ceremony after death. If one's heart was heavier than the feather, they were eaten by Ammut and their souls never found peace or rest. If their hearts were lighter than the feather, their souls would be escorted on their heavenly ascent to Aaru.
