Storyboard Text

  • Bless his heart; it's Fezziwig alive again!
  • Hilli-ho!
  • I saw an old friend of yours this morning.
  • Come in! And know me better, man!
  • The ghost takes Scrooge to the place where he was apprenticed. He sees his old employer, Fezziwig, and becomes happy for the first time since he was younger.
  • Hide, Martha, hide!
  • The ghost makes Scrooge watch his break-up with Belle, then it takes him to her house where she lives with her husband and children. Scrooge is now a joke to them.
  • Spirit, tell me if Tiny Tim will live.
  • I see a vacant seat, and a crutch without an owner.
  • When he returns home, he gets out of bed and goes to find the second spirit - it is a "jolly Giant" who "bore a glowing torch". It is the Ghost of Christmas Present.
  • This boy is Ignorance. This girl is Want. Beware this boy.
  • The ghost takes Scrooge to Bob Cratchit's house. He watches the frivolity of them getting ready for Christmas dinner - they are happy even though the barely have anything. Scrooge sees Tiny Tim.
  • Scrooge feels sympathy for Tiny Tim and asks the Spirit if he will live. He is mortified when he hears that the small child will die. He watches for a bit longer and sees the impact he has on the family.
  • Scrooge briefly sees his nephew and the family playing games at Christmas, then the ghost shows him two miserable children. They are called Ignorance and Want, and the spirit warns Scrooge of Ignorance.
