  • The Annunciation
  • The Visitation
  • The Nativity
  • The Annunciation is angel Gabriel visits Virgin Mary when he tells her that she is going to be the mother of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. This event marks the actual incarnation of Jesus Christ. Without this day, there would have been no Jesus to praise and worship.
  • The Presentation
  • Some Catholic commentators have maintained that the purpose of this visit was to bring divine grace to both Elizabeth and her unborn child. Even though he was still in his mother's womb, John became aware of the presence of Christ, and leapt for joy as he was cleansed from original sin and filled with divine grace.
  • The Finding Jesus in the Temple
  • For many Christians throughout the world, no matter the characters, the sight of a nativity still evokes the miracle of Jesus' conception, his humble birth, his ultimate sacrifice and the gift of everlasting life to those who believe.
  • The significance of Jesus's presentation at the Temple is that, for the first time, he is recognized as the Messiah. The man who recognizes him, Simeon, is a devout Jew who has for many years been waiting for the savior of his people. As soon as he sets eyes on Jesus, Simeon knows that he is that savior, the Messiah.
  • Mary and Joseph headed back home and after a day of travel realised Jesus was missing, so they returned to Jerusalem, finding Jesus three days later. It is one of the only stories we have of Jesus as a child. We learn that Jesus has a deep understanding of God. Mary loved God with all her heart and obeyed him.
