Storyboard Text

  • The Plague started in 1665. People started having symptoms of large black spots on their armpit and groin called bubbles also people had a fever, shivered violently, sneezing, rash pink spots, being horribly sick and coughing up blood 
  • The causes of the plague were believed to be because of bad air or punishment by God or it was spread by cats and dogs but is was actually caused by fleas who bit into rats which where the virus was and then biting into people
  • To prevent the spread of the plague all cats and dogs were killed, plague sufferers had to quarantine for 40 days, fires were lit on streets an people wore amulets and charms. The impact it had on society house had to be locked up, people were dying rapidly and many parishes were infected
  • The cause of the fire was a bakers oven had gotten too hot and because of this his house lit on fire and it impacted because 13,200 houses were destroyed and 100,00 people were homeless
  • Samuel Pepys observed that houses were blown up to stop the spread of the fire. People were camped outside the city and food was in short supply
  • An architect implemented straighter streets and wide open spaces. No wooden buildings and height limits s on a building and churches were rebuilt
