Storyboard Text

  • With the recent launch of the U.S.A's first satellite, we've managed to gather important information that will help us continue our mission of exploring and learning more about space. In order to help us expand our knowledge, I have decided to form a federal agency that will be devoted to exploring space. It is with my greatest pleasure to announce the formation of NASA! I promise I will continue to do as much as I possibly can before my term as President is over. I hope the joy we all feel right now continues to get stronger as our space technology continue advancing.
  • There's no way Khrushchev can surpass this.
  • Once again, I've beaten the Americans. They don't have to know the rest of the story.
  • I am very pleased to announce that Russia has achieved something great once again. We have become the first to send a man into space. With the help of cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin and the Vostok 1, we have made in into orbit and have achieved something never done before. Before we know it, we'll be the first exploring the moon and will explore all of space.
  • These past years have been a roller-coaster. With the Space Race, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the end of Eisenhower's presidency, tension has increased. Despite this, we have continued to seek ways to further improve our intelligence-gathering capabilities and undertaken new challenges. That is why I announce with great joy that we have finally set foot on the moon. Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin and Apollo 11's Saturn 5 "moon rocket" took up this challenge and helped make it possible. Though it may have taken time and although we might not have been the first ones in space, together, we were able to achieve something incredible and have finally brought end to the space race. America has done it once again!
