- Three high officials convinced the king to make a decree that if anyone worshipped anyone but the king they would be put to death.

- Daniel was thrown in the lion's den for worshipping God after the king had a made a law that no one was allowed to worship anyone but him for the next 30 days. He prayed to God to deliver him and God sent an angel to shut the lions mouths. The king was amazed and issued a decree that everyone should fear and show reverence to God. We see that God is the one who is in control and can do the impossible.
- The king declared that God is the living and enduring God and that his kingdom is eternal.
