- Dad and Dominic went to West Berlin for 2 nights. The wall got built-in beetween, and now we might never see our brother and father ever again.
- Will we see dad again, how will he get back home?
- I don't know Gerta, I don't know...
- It's been 4 years since we saw dad and Dominic but, we recently saw him, he made some sort of a sign that we should dig to the other side. So we started a couple of days ago and it is going pretty well, nobody noticed us yet.
- We got caught by officer Muller I hate him! He is really annoying me. But now, all I feel is fear
- You guys are in deep trouble, you're lucky you're not already dead
- I can't believe him! Now we know, we have to hurry because if he figured out where we were, its a matter of time before others find out.
- Luckily, we didn't die. We made a deal with officer Muller, once were done, we put the shovel outside and he and his family can use the tunnel in one condition, he doesn't kill us and tries to keep it a secret. But he didn't promise...
- Don't be surprised if tomorrow I come here and kill you thought.
- I got in Anna's room, my best friend, she isn't the same anymore, she ain't talking to me since her brother died trying to escape. Now I am in her room trying to see where my tunnel would end, Anna knows I am struggling, so she offered me sandwiches and clothes.
- OMG, I just realized! Her brown boots have dirt on them! That means she was near our tunnel recently! I knew that somebody would betray us but never I imagined it would be Anna. I'm outta here.
- What will happen next? Will Anna report Fritz and Gerta to the Stasi? Will Officer Muller keep his deal of the bargain or kill Fritz and Gerta? How will it end? Will they live happily ever after on the west, or die trying.
