  • Rising Action Event
  • On August 28, during a national pandemic known as Covid-19, my mothers friends and my friend wanted to go to Lauglin Nevada. My mother couldn't go because my grandma was having surgery. I left during lunch break, I also had to share a room with my moms gay friend Gabriel and my friend Briana.
  • Climax
  • This is absurd, I'm getting us a new room. This is unacceptable
  • Once we got to the hotel, we wanted to do fast check in because the line was extremely long, that it looped around the hotel due to the social distancing. We needed 3 key cards for the 3 people staying inside, but the max for key cards was 2.
  • Falling Action
  • Once we got to the elevators that lead to our room, there was an average sized line to enter the elevators because of social distancing rules due to Covid-19. It took about 15 minutes to get to our room when it should have been a 5 minute route.
  • Resoulution
  • When we finally arrived to the hotel room, I ran to use the bathroom after the long drive and elevator wait. I went inside the bathroom and notice peaces of chocolate on the counter, dead bees near the windows and hair on the bed. I went to tell Gabriel and he called to complain at the front desk. We not only paid for a clean room, but expected COVID-19 safety protocols in place. By seeing the chocolate in the bathroom, I felt like I wasn't safe because that could have put my health at risk. The bees were all over the window edges, and the hairs were all different types of lengths.
  • I found chocolate, bees and hairs in our hotel room, and I payed for a clean room. I felt very uneasy about this because I feel like they didn't clean the room especially since we are in a pandemic. Could I please have a new room?
  • Before we got the front desk for our room exchange, we had to wait for the elevators on our floor and it took about 15 minutes because every elevator was filling up from the first floor and safety regulations. Once we got to the front desk, Gabriel asked me to explain what I had seen to practice people skills in a hotel situation.
  • After waiting in line for the elevators again, we got to our new room and the view was so beautiful, you could see the lake and the town. I went to the bathroom to check if there was anything in there and I found nothing, so I knew the room had been cleaned properly. In the end we got the hotel room we payed for and I learned to stand up for myself during Covid-19 safety protocols.
