Storyboard Text

  • Our civilization mostly depended on the Indus River, it was where we got our water to drink, and it was where we put our farms because near the river was the most fertile land. It could also be used for transportation when trading.
  • Our homes had roofs that were basically extra rooms, we could walk on them, play on them, and even shower on them. Our homes were built very close together and when we needed a new house for whatever circumstance we would just build the new house right on top of the old one.
  • This isn't exactly what our baths and toilets looked like. For toilets, we had brick platform with holed in the middle connected to irregation pipes that drained out to the sewers under the streets. The showers were brick platforms that had little cracks to drain water that you would have poured on you by yourself, or someone else. Sometimes there were staircases that lead up to the top of the shower so someone could poor water over you while your showering.
  • The great bath at Mohenjo-daro was a special religious place used for religious functions. At these functions, water was used to purify and renew well being. Poor people and people who were "Not pure" could not enter the great bath.
  • Our seals often had animals on them and sometimes some of our gods would be on them. The seals were like stamps, if you pressed a seal into soft clay it would dry up and leave a copy of its self on the clay. It could then be tied to a pot or basket and used as a label.
  • There were a few reasons why the civilization could have came to an end but the most believable is some sort of mass murder. At one investigation in the Indus Valley there were many skeletons found in the same soil layer, and since we didn't have many weapons, we couldn't fight back and it was an easy victory for the invaders.
