- “Hi, I’m Super. I am here to inform you about a life that rocks go through. Let’s go!”
- This process is called the rock cycle and my story.
- “I first started as an igneous rock that erupted in Hawaii like magma and cooled into lava then over time I changed into a rock called Basalt”
- “When weathering and erosion is happening, I break down into pebbles, sand and mud, creating sediments. I got carried all the way to Aberta”
- “Now it’s time for me to become a sedimentary rock. First, I need to go through a process called compaction and cementation. Compaction is when sediments pile on top of each other.“Then, cementation binds and hardens the sediments together.
- I got Cemented in the Alberta Badlands. Now I am a Sedimentary rock.”
- “Now it’s time for me to become a metamorphic rock. I need to go through extreme heat and pressure to be able to change into a metamorphic rock. This stage happens when the rock is deep underground. I am now a metamorphic rock!”
- “I turned into a metamorphic rock in the rocky mountains in Banff. I just got pushed to the bottom and closer to the earths crust After that I just turned into magma underground and the process starts again.
