Storyboard Text

  • As you can see, water splits the land in two parts. For this too happen, water would run over the same area for a long time, and form something like this.
  • Wind, water, and sand are able to slowly wear away at the Earth's surface, landforms, and rocks. This is called weathering.
  • Over time, a rock that was once rough and jagged can look like this ----->
  • The material that has been weathered away is then taken and deposited somewhere else. This process is known as erosion
  • Once the material is moved to another location, it is used to create new landforms. This process is known as deposition.
  • Then, the process starts over again. Weathering wears things down, erosion takes the material away, and deposition creates new landforms with it.
