- Harrison Bergeron, age 14, has just escaped jail.
- In his story "Harrison Bergeron," Kurt Vonnegut makes the point that equality is not realistic or desirable for a nation. He uses this satire to ridicule those who push for equality. He shows the absurdity of government enforcing equality. All humans are unique and have different gifts and abilities, that's what makes us work together to achieve great things.
