- Ancient China was busy and overpopulated. Diseases would spread easliy through traded goods and being in busy places like the market.
- Day 1:The victim would get big lumps in their armpits and the groin. These were usually the size of an egg.Day 2:They would get a fever and start vomitingDay 3:Internal bleeding under the skin caused dark patches all over the bodyDay:4The victim would suffer muscular spasms and be in terrible painDay 5:The lumps would burst and release a black pus. Usually the victim would die.
- Fleas carried the disease. They bit rats which then got onto ships from China and India and sailed to England. The sailors got sick too but they assumed they were sea sick. In England, the disease was transmitted through rats to humans. People who lived in port cities like Bristol and Southampton got the disease and carried it to the rest of England.
- I, King Edward, demand the streets to be thoroughly cleaned as this has been an important factor in the spread of the disease.
- Your Majesty, my King, all our peasants have died because they have contracted the plague. We have no more workers and no one has volunteered to clean the streets; they are to afraid of catching it
