- the setting at the beginning of the story is that this man got in a ship wreak and landed on this mysterious island
- the theme is him exploring this mysterious island and trying to figure out how he got there
- then he meets someone else on the island
- he is now alone because the other guy i guess died so yeah that happend
- the external conflict is that this guy gets a home and gets to safety
- the climax is that the guy found a boat and sailed his boat back home which took hours
