Goliath- David, who was a little man, fought a huge solider named Goliath. Goliath was a big challange in David's life, a hurdle that he had to overcome.
The JV team faced a real Goliath of asituation.
The JV and Varsity Hockey teams were facing off in their annual game. The crowd roared as Olivia raced down the ice. She shoots, she scores! The JV team wins and the crowd goes wild.
This example means that, just like how David overcomed a big challenge, so did the JV hockey team by beating the Varsity.
Golden Ticket- In the movie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Charlie wins the golden ticket. This was a one in a million chance of winning, so it was a big huge to him and his family.
Rebecca is in the backyard playing fetch with her golden retriever and says out loud to her dog, I feel like I won the golden ticket.
What this example means is that, just how Charlie felt like he had won the lottery, Rebecca felt like she had gotten the best dog in the world.
