Storyboard Text
PlantingSeedsBy: Junnie Cooke
This is my story about learning to read and write.
Do I really have to write an essay?!
I would sit in my grandmother's lap for hours as she would read to me. I was mesmerized by the colorful pictures that seemed to come alive.
She read the same books over and over I am sure she could tell the story without looking at the pages. But, it was her way of spending time with me.
In middle school, my mom would buy me books and I would read them all in a day! I'd stay up all night if I had to.
I imagined myself as the heroine fighting the villain in many of the books.
The End
Writing never came as easy to me as reading did.

Learning about poetry in school helped me to be able to express my thoughts and feeling with words.
Learning to read and write has helped me in my job today. If I hadn't learned those skills I wouldn't be where I am today.
Although I wasn't aware that my grandma was planting the seeds of my future, I am benefiting from them today.
I hope you enjoyed my story.
