  • he admits he feels distracted, but he does not know why
  • We have secretly arranged for Hamlet to come here so we can run into Ophelia
  • We will hide and listen to see if its love that is making him crazy.
  • to be or not to be, that is the question. (Is it better to be alive or dead?)
  • Rosencrantz and Guildenstern report about Hamlet’s behaviors to the King and Queen and Polonius. (3,1,5-6)
  • Please, God make him normal again!
  • I am arrogant and vengeful, why should I even be on this Earth? 
  • They decide to send Ophelia to find out the real reason that causes Hamlet to go absolutely mad and crazy. (3,2,30-1)
  • I do not think he's acting crazy because he loves Ophelia.
  • Well what else would it be? I think he is crazy because he loves Ophelia.
  • Hamlet enters and delivers the most famous speech in literature, beginning, “To be or not to be—that is the question” (3,1,64).

  • Hamlet sees Ophelia. He questions her honesty then criticizes Ophelia, telling her off sarcastically and venomously (3,1,123).
  • The King does not believe that Hamlet is mad because of his foiled love for Ophelia, whereas Polonius persists in his belief that Hamlet has gone crazy for her daughter.
  • Polonius and the King plan to arrange a private meeting between Hamlet and Gertrude. Polonius is hoping to find out the truth behind Hamlet’s madness by overhearing their conversation secretly.
  • If we can't figure out what is making him crazy lets send him to England.
