  • Today, we will be exploring how both Fossil Record and Biogeography are evidence for evolution and what these two science terms mean!
  • Fossil Record is how scientists and other palaeontologists discover humans life through different fossils!
  • The oldest fossils found by humans were found in Archaean rocks in Western Australia from around 3.5 billion years ago
  • Fossils are the simplest and oldest form of organism that have been found. This supports Charles Darwin's evolution theory that simple organism gradually form into complex ones.
  • You can look at the structure of the fossil that have been found and compare the bones to organism that now days are roaming the planet and get an understanding of how much these organisms have evolved.
  • Biogeography is the the area of biology that studies how animals and plants are distributed geographically.
  • The distribution of a certain organism on the planet and the unique features they have to adapt to their environment reflects both evolution and geographic change.
  • An example of this would be Antarctic fish and how over time they evolved to having proteins in their blood to prevent them from freezing in the icy waters.
  • To conclude, both Fossil Record and Biogeography are top notch ways in the field of identifying evidence through evolution
