- Fade in, the camera slowly moves in towards house as we hear the V.O
- Outskirts of Salem, Massachusetts - 1672
- Tools shuffle and metal clangs
- Ah-ha! This will do, this will, wait! No, Not this one, the other is better, yes, much better.
- Transition into house, we see B-roll of the room of candles, papers, pots and pans and other objects around the room.
- We see Bartholomew Stone going through his instruments and finds his favorite scalpel. We see a white bundle on the table next to him but can't see it yet.
- You! My favorite, why do you hide? We have work to do. I see you are still sharp. So very sharp.
- Bartholomew moves towards the table and admires his scalpel
- Camera shoots low that follows up Bartholomew's shoulder and over the scalpel, revealing a girl tied up and gagged on the table. There is implied cutting on her as she moans in pain
- Bartholomew lifts the scalpel, we see it red with blood.
- Why the fuss, little one? I have just begun. It hurts, hmm?
- The nervous system is a marvelous creation. It is nature’s way of keeping us out of bodily harm. With no repercussions from pain, we could simply walk into a fire and stand there. Incinerating, not even knowing the difference. Yes child, We need to learn more...
