  • Act 1 Scene 3
  • All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter!
  • Act 2 Scene 2
  • At the beginning of this play, Macbeth's character would be considered one of morals and values, seemingly too kind to ever do such an act he will soon experience.
  • Act 2 Scene 4
  • The first event that ultimately leads to Macbeth's downfall is the appearance of the three witches, who give out their prophecies for him. This causes Macbeth to drive himself towards these omens and only these omens.
  • Act 4 Scene 2
  • The second event the quickly changes Macbeth's fate is the murder of King Duncan, which he had committed himself due to the witches prophecies. This leads to Macbeth gaining the title of King of Scotland.
  • Act 5 Scene 8
  • After gaining this specific title, Macbeth's power as king starts to consume him as time goes on, leading him to make quick and poorly thought through decisions which will soon be used against him.
  • One of the events that had happened due to Macbeth's growing power is the murder of Macduff's family. Macbeth had chosen to commit this careless act out of fear of Macduff taking this power away from him.
  • As a result of Macduff's family's slaughter, this was the final event that had lead Macbeth to his downfall, which was destined for him and the beginning of the play. Macduff kills him out of revenge and strips him away from his power.
