- When Pip was 23 years old, Herbert and him moved to the Temple (an area of central London). Already there, an unespected visitor came to their home...
- Who are you? Why are you here?
- Calm down! I will not harm you. My name is Abel Magwitch, and I'm your benefactor
- Oh my god! You are my benefactor?
- Yes I am, and I have travelled months on boat to tell you this. Also, I can't go back to our original town because I have been sentced to death because of some problems that I had with a man called Compeyson, who I got a big rivarly with. He is a bad man, and used me for many years, and now I have to be protected or otherwise him or the police will arrest me and I will die!
- Oh my god! I thought that Miss Havisham was my benefactor all this time. This means that she never wanted me and Estella to be together, and it is part of her revenge for men. Also, this man Magwitch seems so attached to me, and I literally owe him all the things I have! Why do I always enter the most difficult situations... I need to tell Herbert about this.
- Yes, we have to give him home, after all the things he did for us!
- Later, Pip told Herbert their situation
- Definetely we need to give him security. We can take him to my father's house for a while, until we realize how to get him out and safe of London.
