- A Pretense
- They’ve come to overthrow the court, sir! this man is—
- Peace. What would you tell us, Mary Warren?
- She never saw no spirits, sir.
- It were pretense, sir.
- Abigail and the Girls
- A poppet were discovered in Mr. Proctor’s house, stabbed by a needle. Mary Warren claims that you sat beside her in the court when she made it, and that you saw her make it and witnessed how she herself stuck her needle into it for safe-keeping. What say you to that?
- Goody Proctor always kept poppets.
- Your Honor, my wife never kept no poppets. Mary Warren confesses it was her poppet.

- You—you are a lecher?
- John Proctor takes Mary Warren to the court to give out testimony against Abigail and the girls. Mary Warren assures that she pretended when the girl accused people of witchcraft.
- Making Decision
- Look at me! to your own knowledge, has John proctor ever committed the crime of lechery? Answer my question! Is your husband a lecher!
- As the girls arrive at the court, Mr. Danforth asks if Abigail stuck the needle into Marry's poppet during court and falsely accused Elizabeth Proctor of murder. Abigail denies that.
- The Yellow Bird

- Abby, you mustn’t!
- John Proctor admits and that he had an affair with Abigail.
- It is a whore! I have known her, sir. I have known her.
- Elizabeth is called to the court to justify Proctor's confession. However, she lies to the court that Proctor is a good man.
- No, sir
- Elizabeth, I have confessed it!
- Suddenly Abigail looks up and screams as if she is scared by a creature flying on the ceiling. She continuously calls out Mary's name so people believe that Mary has sent her spirit out upon Abigail.
- Oh, please, Mary! Don’t come down.
- Abby, you mustn’t!
